Larry was born Dec. 11, 1937.

He is preceded in death by his father Leamon Lester Pruett (Chick Pruett) and mother Ownie B. Pruett (Thomas).

He leaves behind a loving wife Sara Bates Pruett; sister Lea Ellen Smith (Ronald); son Christopher Bates Pruett; daughter Kelly Smith (Heith); son Joey Pruett; granddaughters Haylee Smith, Allison Pruett, and Krystn Pruett; and grandson Bryant Pruett. He also leaves behind great-granddaughter, Finley Jo Whitworth, as well as a beloved pet whom he said was one of his best friends, Rudy.

An avid farmer, tractor trader and salesman, and a great friend to so many, Larry lived a great life and leaves behind an even greater impression on those who knew him. The first thoughts that come to mind when Larry Pruett’s name is heard is overalls, and a John Deere hat. Larry was hardheaded, extremely hard-working, and loved his family with his whole heart. He also loved riding around, dirt track racing, watching basketball games, and of course, talking on his cell phone.  We always hear the saying that someone would “give the shirt off of their back to someone,” but for all who know Larry, know how truthful that is for him. He raised his three children along with so many others that weren’t blood related. Larry traveled all over the United States and even at almost 83 years, we could call him no matter where we were, and he would know the exact location, the road we were on, the roads we would travel on, and how far away we were from home. Of all of his trips and journeys, we believe his trip to Heaven to reunite with his mother and father will be his best one.
