James Curtis Lambert, 93, of Odenville, Alabama passed away Sept. 9, 2020. He was born Sept. 25, 1926 in Cullman, Alabama to Glovus Vinus and Emma Chambers Lambert.

Mr. Lambert served our country with honor in the United States Navy and he was a WWII veteran. Curtis was a member of the Masonic brotherhood, Guy T. Smith #883 F & AM Masonic Lodge, of Mobile, Alabama. He loved to read, and he enjoyed a good Louis L’Amour western as well as anything pertaining to history. Curtis traced the genealogy of his family and enjoyed learning his ancestry. He was a people person and enjoyed time spent just visiting with folks. Gigi, the Lambert’s little dog, brought joy to Curtis and his wife. Curtis and Ruth were married for over 73 years and had two sons together. Curtis adored his wife and children, but when grandchildren and great-grandchildren arrived, his love doubled. He loved to hear about the accomplishments and activities of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he also enjoyed retelling those stories to anyone he could get to listen. Curtis was an important person to so many and he will be missed greatly.

Curtis is preceded in death by his parents Glovus Vinus and Emma Chambers Lambert and his brother James Lambert.

He is survived by his wife Ruth Drake Lambert; sons Ronald Lambert and his wife Rebecca and Michael Lambert and his wife Lesa; grandsons Nicholas Lambert and his wife Jennifer and Christopher Lambert; granddaughters Carmen Lambert and Erin Thrasher and her husband Stephen; great-grandchildren Meredith Lambert, Cohen Lambert, and Amiyah Lambert; brother Robert Lambert and his wife Janice; sisters Mary Francis “Tiny” Brown and Linda Fowler and her husband Ray.

Mr. Lambert will be laid to rest in Holly Pond Cemetery at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020. Graveside services will be conducted by Bro. Pete Grund and Bro. Hermon Lambert.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Lambert family.
