HANCEVILLE, ALA. – Wallace State’s Cheerleading tryouts for the 2020-2021 season will be submitted virtually for the first time.
Video submissions should be sent to coach Jill Honeycutt at email@example.com by Friday, May 15, at 10 a.m.
“We hoped to have tryouts on campus, but we look forward to the video submissions and finding our newest Wallace State Cheerleaders. We encourage all individuals to send all of the necessary documents and videos from the same email account,” Honeycutt said.
Video contents must include a standing tuck; backhand spring and backhand spring tuck; specialty standing tumbling; specialty running pass; a fight song with standing tuck; toss extension and toss platform lib, and a stunt sequence, among other requirements.

All candidates should wear an athletic shirt, tank, or plain t-shirt (no brands, logos, school names, etc.) tucked in, athletic shorts and cheer shoes. Girls should have their hair in a ponytail with a ribbon or bow and natural, “game day” make-up with lipstick on.
The online tryouts will consist of a list of requirements that will need to be filmed and submitted in a video format. Videos will need to be uploaded and set as unlisted (on the visibility tab) on YouTube. Clearly label your online video with your full name and Wallace State Community College Cheer Tryout.
Applicants will be notified of their interview times that will be on May 16 between 1-4 p.m. The interviews will take place on Zoom. Not all applicants will receive an interview notification.
The 2020-2021 Wallace State Cheerleaders will placement will be announced on the squad’s Instagram page on May 17 at 7 p.m.
