CULLMAN, Ala. – A Crane Hill man is behind bars without bond after allegedly burglarizing a residence and fleeing from Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies.

Heath Anthony Baker, 33, is charged with second-degree burglary, violation of a domestic violence protection order, aggravated stalking and attempting to elude.

According to a media release from the CCSO, the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Deputies responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence on County Road 946 in Crane Hill. The deputies made contact with Baker before they arrived at the residence. The deputies attempted a traffic stop, but Baker fled, abandoning his vehicle down a long logging road off County Road 855.

“Deputies set up a perimeter and apprehended the suspect a short time later,” said the release.
