(Update) CCSO Deputy Adam Clark in critical condition after early morning crash

CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy remains in critical condition in Huntsville Hospital, following a car crash early Tuesday morning.  Deputy Adam Clark was injured, along with his K9 partner Figo.

According to the CCSO, dispatch lost contact with Clark during heavy rain. Deputies located Clark a short time later, when they discovered he had wrecked along Alabama Highway 69 South and was unconscious.

A traffic alert issued by the department said the highway was closed just past County Road 8 just before 5 a.m. It remained closed for almost three hours.

“His patrol car wrecked on Highway 69 South near Bremen. He was found unconscious, with his K9 partner Figo also injured,” read a statement from the CCSO.

K9 Figo is in stable condition at a local veterinarian’s office.

“I would like to thank all the first responders from the local volunteer fire departments, Cullman EMS, Morgan County Sheriff‘s Office, Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Huntsville Police Department, Falkville Police Department, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency and the Huntsville Hospital nurses and doctors who have shown overwhelming love, support and care for Deputy Clark and his life,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “We ask for the community’s prayers for the deputy, his family and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.”

An update on the crash is expected Wednesday.

CULLMAN, Ala. – The CCSO has identified the injured deputy as K9 Deputy Adam Clark. Clark is in critical condition at Huntsville Hospital.

CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputy and his K9 were injured in an early morning crash. The deputy, who has not been officially identified, was transported to Huntsville Hospital, while his K9 was taken to a veterinarian.

The CCSO said in a media release that during the early morning hours, Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Dispatch lost contact with a deputy during the heavy rain.

It said CCSO deputies located the injured deputy a short time later. They discovered he had wrecked on Alabama Highway 69 South and was unconscious.
