30th Anniversary Eva Frontier Days set for Sept. 21-28

EVA, Ala. – The 30th Anniversary Eva Frontier Days are fast approaching, taking place Sept. 21-28.

Below is a list of this year’s events.

  • Saturday, Sept. 21 – Eva Frontier Days Beauty Pageant – 10 a.m. at Charlie’s Vineyard at Frost Farm, 1684 Frost Road, Eva, AL 35621; admission is $3
  • Tuesday, Sept. 24 – Hayride – 6:30 p.m. at 1718 Frost Road, Eva, AL 35621; $1 to ride, refreshments given at the end of the ride
  • Thursday, Sept. 26 – Community Singing – 7 p.m. at Eva Methodist Church- Event organizers noted, “Old fashion hymn book-singing. Lots of fun, fellowship and praising the Lord.”
  • Friday, Sept. 27 – Music on the Square – 6 p.m. in downtown Eva under entertainment tent- Free admission, featuring Another Town with band member Anthony Bailey (former band member of Stan Nelson and Hurricane Creek Bluegrass Band)
  • Saturday, Sept. 28 – Festival (The BIG Day)- 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in downtown Eva

The festival will kick off Saturday, Sept. 28 at 9 a.m. with an arts and crafts show, car show and antique tractor show. Registration for the car show is at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of Eva Methodist Church. Registration for the antique tractor show is also at 9 a.m., beside Eva Church of Christ.

There will be additional activities, such as a baking contest, the entry deadline being 10:30 a.m. at the Eva Church of Christ Annex building. The winner will receive a cash prize.

The annual Eva Frontier Days Parade will kick off at 11 a.m. Organizers note that if you’d like to be in the parade, be at the Eva Community Center no later than 10 a.m.

Throughout the day food vendors and games alike will be available for everyone. From 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., live entertainment will be provided by Jeff Whitlow and the Ole Barn Band under the main entertainment tent next to the Eva Exxon. Later in the afternoon, there will be a pig calling contest at 3 p.m., followed by a frog jumping contest at the Eva ballfields at 4 p.m., where the greased pig chase will take place at 5 p.m.

Proceeds from Eva Frontier Days will benefit the Eva Art Guild.
