CULLMAN, Ala. – Memorial Day Weekend is only two days away, and it’s a time to remember and honor those who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces. A short yet poignant ceremony is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday morning at Veterans Park at Sportsman Lake. The annual ceremony is hosted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 2214.

Everyone is welcome to come out to the ceremony, which will remember and show appreciation for the sacrifices of the brave men and women lost. The parking and admission is free.

Harold Barnard, post commander of Cullman American Legion Post 4, said he and many from the post will be at the ceremony, adding, “I hope people will come out to the park Saturday morning. It’s important for people to remember the reason for the holiday and pay their respects.”
