CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman County Animal Shelter volunteer Donna Ruttkay introduces The Cullman Tribune Pet of the Week.

Uncle Henny is a 2-year-old hound mix described as an “over-sized beagle look-alike” with a stubby tail that may indicate a little mountain cur in his family tree.  He’s a friendly, medium-energy pet who’s learning his leash etiquette and has the makings of a good outdoor hiking or companion dog.

Animal shelter staff and volunteers work with their dogs to make sure they are accustomed to being around people, walking on a leash and practicing good behavior.  Several of the shelter’s dogs have even been “hired” to work as therapy and special needs service dogs.

Discount doggie!

Uncle Henny has already been neutered, so his adoption fee will be substantially reduced.  He also comes with a few “extras” thrown in, so be sure to talk to the shelter staff about what else you get when you take him home.

Please consider adopting to give a rescued pet a chance at a happy and healthy life.
