Fairview Organizes P.T.A.

Parents and teachers of the Fairview School area have had two meetings, recently. The outgrowth of these meetings is an organized P.T.A.

Officers elected for the school year 1950-1951 are: Mrs. Gus Buttram, president; Mrs. Ray Campbell, first vice-president; Robert Stewart, second vice-president; Mrs. June Moses, secretary; Mrs. Van Moore, treasurer; Mrs. Willie Spencer, historian and Fay Dilbeck, reporter.

Driving to Auburn on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. E.L. Buckner, with their daughter, Carolyn, who enrolled in A.P.I. on Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Edward Crutchfield, of Birmingham, were the Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Willie Ellard.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Gilley visited I.M. Shaddrix, who is ill, in Blountsville, on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Pete Nuss and son, Billy and Mrs. W.E. Tanner drove to Decatur to visit Mr. and Mrs. George Tanner.

Mr. and Mrs. J.O. Cornell and children and Mrs. Robert Gilley went shopping in Birmingham on Saturday.

Rose Ollie Woods returned to Birmingham Southern College on Sunday. She went with Mrs. Fagan Thompson and daughter, Jean, from Cullman.

Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Hammock, of Birmingham, formerly of Holly Pond, are the proud parents of a baby girl, born at the Cullman Hospital last weekend.

Mr. and Mrs. Alba Ellard, of Tuscumbia, attended church here on Sunday.

Alice Sue Shaw celebrated her tenth birthday at her home on Sunday, with a dinner. Friends who attended were: Dell Duke, Ann Franklin, Judy Gilley, Rosellen Ellard, Peggy Harris, Mary Dunlap and Butch Ellard.

Mr. and Mrs. Herman Keaton visited Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Keaton and family, at Jasper, on Sunday.

Mrs. Sindy Miller is ill.

Those visiting her on Sunday afternoon were Mr. and Mrs. Berlie Miller, of Hulaco, Tom and Henry Miller, Mrs. Robert Creel, Mr. and Mrs. Almar Akins, Mrs. Tessie Bailey, Mrs. Audy Maddox and Tom Knops.

Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hare spent Sunday with the Gerald Moores.

Mrs. L.B. Willingham spent Saturday with Mrs. Junior Knop.

Reverend and Mrs. Williams, of Pell City, called on the C.L. Hares on Saturday afternoon.

The Junior Class, of the Training Union, enjoyed a party at the C.M. Nunnellys on Saturday night.

Mrs. Irene Thomas’ Sunday School class enjoyed their trip to the Ave Maria Grotto on Sunday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Hesterley visited the J.C. Baileys on Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ray Waldrop have a new baby daughter, whom they have named Judy Ann.

Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Smith, of Cullman, spent Sunday with the Noah Bryants.

Little Don Ray spent Tuesday night with Sherrill Brindley.
