Dalton Brown (Cullman County Sheriff’s Office)
HANCEVILLE – Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) investigators on Monday arrested a Hanceville man on one charge of second-degree rape.
According to a spokesperson for the CCSO, Dalton Myles Brown, 21, was arrested after an investigation determined that he had abused a minor child.
Due to the graphic nature of the crime and the crime involving a minor child, no further details will be released.
Brown has been released on a $15,000 bond.
Alabama Code Title 13A. Criminal Code § 13A-6-62
(a) A person commits the crime of rape in the second degree if:
(1) Being 16 years old or older, he or she engages in sexual intercourse with a member of the opposite sex less than 16 and more than 12 years old; provided, however, the actor is at least two years older than the member of the opposite sex.
(2) He or she engages in sexual intercourse with a member of the opposite sex who is incapable of consent by reason of being mentally defective.
(b) Rape in the second degree is a Class B felony.
