Suspect in custody in Friday’s Traditions Bank robbery

CULLMAN – The suspect in Friday’s robbery of Traditions Bank is in custody. The man, identified only as a middle-aged white male, is currently being interrogated by Cullman Police Department investigators, according to CPD Capt. of Investigation Becky Boyd.

The incident happened at approximately 10:15 Friday morning at the main branch of Traditions Bank in downtown Cullman. The bank is located at 109 Second Ave. NW.

Lt. Gene Bates is leading the investigation.

The department is not releasing any additional details yet, as it is an active investigation.

“I can’t tell you anything yet, except we had a bank robbery this morning and the suspect is in custody,” said Boyd, who also confirmed, “There were no injuries. Everyone is safe.”

The Tribune has reached out to Traditions Bank President Tim Compton, and is awaiting more information.
