FALKVILLE – Good Hope had plenty of personnel in on the action Monday at the Falkville girls' basketball play day.

Coach Amanda Swann utilized 16 players with the Lady Raiders compiling a 47-22 win over Winston County and a 39-37 triumph against Oakman to offset the 51-34 loss to begin the day vs. Colbert County.

The storyline in the game with Winston County was eight adding their names to the scoring column, plus good three-point shooting in the first half.

Good Hope ended the stanza with a 12-0 run, featuring threes by Erika Woodall and Leyton Seal to go with scoring inside by center Kate Kent that carried them to a 25-14 halftime advantage.

Amber Sterling stepped up her game in the second half, scoring three straight baskets and getting the lead to 33-22. Sterling handed an assist, leading to a score by Kent, giving Good Hope a 41-26 cushion with 3:00 to play.

Kent scored 10 for the Lady Raiders, Woodall had nine, Sterling and Abby Neighbors six each, Savanna Derrick and Bobbi Johnson four each, Leyton Seal and Kendra Seal three each.

Good Hope encountered a 22-17 deficit at the half with Oakman. A see-saw second half included five lead changes in the game's final 10 minutes.

Seal drained a three with 4:20 remaining that put Good Hope on top to stay at 37-36.

Oakman could not regain the lead with Kent scoring two from the line with four seconds to go.

This was huge for Kent, who left the game with 2:22 to play, having the wind knocked out of her after she was fouled.  She returned to the game with 32 seconds left and made it count in the clutch.

Seal scored 15 by hitting five threes, Kent added 12, Derrick scored five, Woodall hit three and Johnson and Sterling scored two each.

Good Hope knocked down six treys in the game, three per half. They accounted for 11 threes in the two wins on the day.
