2-car incident in West Point Monday evening injures 2

UPDATED 9:12 A.M.: ALEA this morning released the names of two people who were injured in a wreck in West Point yesterday evening. Wallace Wright, 68, or Vinemont and Pamela Hancock, 53, also of Vinemont both sustained injuries and were transported to area hospitals.

An ALEA spokesperson said the incident occurred at 5:15 p.m. on Alabama Highway 157 in West Point.

No further information is available at this time.


WEST POINT – A two-car incident on Alabama Highway 157 W in West Point jammed traffic and sent at least one person to an area hospital via helicopter this evening.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) does not have additional information at this time, other than to confirm that the incident occurred at approximately 5:25 p.m. near the intersection of Hwy 157 and County Road 1242.

Multiple witnesses reported that at least one of the vehicles was on fire shortly after the wreck happened.
