BERLIN – On Friday, Feb. 18, the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) arrested Nathaniel Scott Pilgrim, 24, of Berlin, a registered sex offender, for chemical endangerment of a child and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The arrest took place in Berlin after a welfare check on the safety of a minor child was requested by the Department of Human Resources (DHR).  Once establishing probable cause to search the home, CCSO deputies discovered a spent meth lab and  classic drug paraphernalia items. The Cullman Narcotics Enforcement Team (CNET) arrived and assisted in the disposal of the spent meth lab.

“Most importantly I am glad deputies were able to get the child out that environment.  A child being around a spent meth lab and a sex offender is a very bad combination,” said Sheriff Matt Gentry. “Again, I am very glad of the job the deputies did in arresting this guy and more importantly getting the child away from that environment."

Pilgrim is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center on no bond.

When this media release was originally provided by the CCSO, Pilgrim's age was mistakenly listed as 43. Pilgrim is actually 24.
