HANCEVILLE — A plethora of emergency vehicles from across the area filled Ala. Highway 31 South on Saturday as the City of Hanceville played host to the 26th annual Cullman County Christmas Parade, with Hanceville Mayor Kenneth Nail taking the lead as Grand Marshal.

“Kenneth was chosen this year's Grand Marshal because over the years he has supported the parade by showing love for the City of Hanceville,” said Joann Walls, Civitan Club Member. “He has dedicated his life to the betterment of Hanceville and Cullman County."

Spectators lined the roadway from Wallace State Community College to City Hall. Tim and Cinda Simmons brought their young family out to enjoy the sights and sounds of the parade. The family has been attending the parade for the past four years.

"It’s a good environment and we love the parade during the daytime," said Cinda. “It’s great event for the whole family.”

Latrice Simmons, from Hanceville, said she came out so her son so they could have some fun on the sunny Saturday afternoon. She was also excited to see someone special to her in marching in the parade.

"Well, we came out today to watch my daughter, Dynasia, march with the Hanceville Middle School Cheerleaders," said Latrice. “It’s exciting to see her out there since we’ve been coming to the parade for a while.”
