    Obituary: Frankie Joe “Big Guy” Weathers

      Frankie Joe “Big Guy” Weathers, 62, of Sumrall, MS passed from this life Aug. 4, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital. Frankie was born March 11, 1958 in Cullman, AL to Charles Franklin Weathers and Jane Brock Weathers Aultz.

      He graduated from Forrest County Agricultural High School and attended USM.

      Frankie was of the Baptist faith. Frankie was employed with Lamar Auto Salvage for 13 years until he was diagnosed with cancer and retired. Music was a big part of Frankie’s life; he played bass guitar with several local bands in the Hattiesburg area. He enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, hunting and writing poetry.

      Frankie is survived by his mother Jane Brock Weathers Aultz (Billy); children Martin Rayne Weathers of Sumrall, MS, Jeremy Slade (Skyla) of Petal, MS, and Jason Williamson of New Orleans, LA; four grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; sisters Bonnie Faye Aultman of Sumrall, Donna Kay Patterson, Mandy Fairley (Sonny) of Brooklyn, Stephanie Piercy, and Stacy Williams (Matt) of Hattiesburg; step-sister Lisa Jarrell; and step-brother Tony Mixon of Hattiesburg.

      He was preceded in death by his father Charles Franklin Weathers; paternal grandparents Frank and Rosalie Weathers; and maternal grandparents Hase and Sylvia Howard Brock.

      A memorial service was held at Dixie Cemetery Saturday, Aug. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

      Family and friends were invited to attended. Social distancing and masks were required.
