CULLMAN, Ala. – Goat Island Brewing will host its sixth annual Goatoberfest event this Saturday, Sept. 26, from 11 a.m.- 11 p.m. at its original brewery and taproom at 1646 John Cooper Dr.
The celebration will feature German food, cold craft beer, live music and activities for the entire family, plus it’s dog friendly.
“The entertainment lineup includes Justin and Tab, the authentic German music of the Cullman German Band, The Daltons and Sipsey Falls,” Goat Island’s Mike Mullaney said. “Guests can enjoy Goat Island’s Oktoberfest beer along with a German meal featuring wiener schnitzel, beer brats, German potato salad and more. Family activities will include face painting, friendly goats and a variety of local vendors.”
At 6 p.m., attendees can test their strength in Goat Island’s stein-hoisting competition.
“The winners will qualify to compete in the Alabama state championship at Cullman Oktoberfest,” Mullaney said. “Goatoberfest will be held at Goat Island Brewing, 1646 John H. Cooper Dr. in Cullman. Bring the whole family and celebrate German food, music and tradition — Goat Island style.”
Taproom Manager Mandy Hamm said Goatoberfest began six years ago, and the tradition has grown into one of the things they look forward to most every year.
“There’s just something so special about bringing our Goat Island family and community together for a day filled with the best craft beer, great music from our talented local musicians, great German food and even better memories,” Hamm said. “We couldn’t be more excited to raise a stein and celebrate six years of Goatoberfest! Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the friendships we’ve built and an amazing day still yet to come. Cheers to Goatoberfest.”
