Betty Jo Wilkins, 87, of Addison, entered into rest Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at her home.
Betty was born July 19, 1931 in Addison, Alabama. She attended Addison High School and was a member of Addison Church of God. Betty enjoyed gardening, canning, and preserving food. She especially enjoyed sharing her harvest with friends and family. Betty loved butterflies, birds and especially hummingbirds.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 18, 2019 from 9:30-11 a.m. at Addison Church of God with service to follow at 11 a.m. Pastor Rodney Ridgeway will officiate. Burial will follow in Addison Church of God cemetery.
Betty is survived by her husband of 70 years, Fred M. Wilkins; son, Fred T. Wilkins and wife Laura; daughter, Marcia Shaffer and husband Jim. She was “Grandma” to 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John O. and Dae Dickerson; sons, Phillip V. Wilkins, Allen J. Wilkins; brother, John O. Dickerson, Jr.; sisters, Helen Flack and Norma Faye Cook.
