GOOD HOPE, Ala. – The Cullman County Board of Education on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, cut the ribbon on the new Good Hope Elementary School at 703 County Road 447.The facility, adjacent to the primary school, will welcome students on Monday, Oct. 12.
Cullman County Schools Superintendent Dr. Shane Barnette thanked board members, school faculty, tech and maintenance staff who assisted with the development.
He explained that the location of the new school will allow for several phases of additions, which will help because, he said, Good Hope is one of the fastest growing communities in the Cullman County Schools District.
“We have plans for phases 2, 3 and 4 going out the back if needed,” Barnette said. “We will be able to expand as the community grows.”
He acknowledged and thanked Good Hope Elementary’s new principal, Emily Paschall, who was appointed in May, for taking on her role and making the transition to the new site five months later.
Paschall, prior to cutting the ribbon, stated, “Schools are the community center and all of this is for our kids and the future of Good Hope. I want to thank every single person who has poured into helping us make this a reality.”
Earlier this week, Cullman County Schools reported that students from all seven county high schools, as part of the Superintendent’s Advisory Council, helped faculty and staff move into the new school.
“Now our kids are going to be ready for a bright and shining new building come Monday morning, with teachers who feel supported. It’s just a great, great place and I’m thankful to get to be a part of it,” Paschall added.
Cullman County Schools created a video demonstrating regular pickup procedures at the new school. See it at www.facebook.com/reel/1123737996880814.
