Judith Clark Hensel was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 7, 1944 to father, Carl Norton Hensel and mother, Margaret Bliss Potter. She passed away Monday, September 14, 2026 in Guntersville, AL after many years of declining health.

Judith was raised initially in Minnesota. After her parents divorced, she spent her childhood years in Carmel, CA where her mother had family. She continued to spend time periodically with her Minnesota family. She graduated from Lewis & Clark College, in Oregon.

Judith’s adult years were consumed with many adventures in this country and India—always with the goal of seeking greater communication with the Lord. She ultimately found peace and rest in her beloved Catholicism. She eventually settled in Alabama and became a devout catholic. She built a community of wonderful friends who enriched her life, including Lee John Bruno, Karen Duffy, Mary Baker and Terry Kopp.

She is survived by her biological brother, Peter Hensel (Jackie) and her step siblings, Ede Rice (Jack), Rob Hensel (Signe), Pam Johns (Pat) and Heidi Heiland (Dan).

Funeral Mass on September 17th at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Cullman, AL.

In memory of Judith’s spirit of giving and the love for her community, in lieu of flowers please donate to the United For Life Foundation.
