CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman Area Literacy Council is inviting local businesses, nonprofit organizations, clubs, churches, schools and individuals to showcase their creativity during Cullman’s inaugural Scarecrow Trail at Heritage Park.
The family-friendly trail will be open to the public throughout October, beginning Oct. 1 and continuing through Oct. 31. Admission to view the displays will be free.
Registered participants will create scarecrow exhibits representing themselves or their organizations.
Organizers said the displays will offer participants a seasonal way to promote their work and increase their visibility within the community.
Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism is sponsoring the event. Proceeds from exhibit registrations will benefit the Cullman Area Literacy Council, also known as CALiCo.
The exhibit registration fee is $25. Registration is now open to businesses, nonprofits, organizations, clubs, churches, schools and individual participants. The event flyer states that late registration will close Sept. 30.
CALiCo is Cullman’s local affiliate of the Alabama Literacy Association and International Literacy Association. The organization supports literacy, student leadership, learning and youth-related community service projects in the Cullman area.
