TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The University of Alabama National Alumni Association held its annual Chapter Awards Dinner during the 2026 Chapter Leadership Workshop July 16-18, 2026. The Cullman County Chapter was named Emerging Chapter of the Year.

The Emerging Chapter of the Year award recognizes a chapter that has made an outstanding impact in a short amount of time through strong leadership and meaningful alumni engagement.

The leadership of the Cullman County chapter took on the challenge of re-establishing the chapter and rebuilding connections among local alumni. The chapter successfully hosted a chapter launch party, followed by a basketball watch party, an alumni scholarship event at the Cullman County Public Library and a speaker event featuring UA President Peter Mohler. These events have helped build momentum, strengthen connections among local alumni, and establish a strong foundation for continued growth and success.

The National Alumni Association is a self-governed, nonprofit membership-based organization that serves The University of Alabama and its many alumni, students, parents, friends and fans.
