CULLMAN, Ala. – A Gardendale man was killed in a single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 12:05 a.m. Monday, June 8. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Hakeem X. Collins, 21.
Troopers said Collins was fatally injured when the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup he was driving left the roadway and struck a tree. They said Collins was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near the 295 mile marker, approximately 5 miles northwest of Dodge City, in Cullman County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
