A. G. Glascock attended the convention of Victor sales agents in Birmingham Wednesday.

The two-year-old child of Mr. and Mrs. Sticher on route 8, died Wednesday morning of colitis.

Miss Louene Gibson spent last week in Athens as the guest of class mates at Athens college.

Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Fuller and son, Edward, left Wednesday for a motor trip to points in Florida.

Z. Z. McMinn left for his home in Akron Wednesday after a six weeks visit with relatives in Cullman.

Mrs. W. A. Trimble and Miss Mayme Bradford motored to Birmingham to visit friends this week.

Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Kelley and sons, Fred and Will, Jr., left Sunday for a two week motor trip in Canada.

Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Wallace spent Sunday in Steppville as the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Thompson.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Legg and pretty baby daughter, Wanza, of route four, were in the city shopping Tuesday.

Mrs. Paul Hines and baby of Birmingham, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Young for a two weeks visit.

Rev. H. E. Henning of Bristol, Tenn., and A. H. Dreher, of Birmingham, spent Wednesday in Cullman with relatives.

Mrs. Louis Keller and little son, George Lee, spent last week end in Steppville as the guest of her sister, Mrs. Earl Clark.

Louie Glascock and Mr. and Mrs. Troy Glascock motored to Powatan Sunday and visited Fred Glascock, their brother.

Misses Sallie and Maude Huey and Miss Katharine Gurley attended the decoration at Simcoe Baptist church last Sunday.

Mrs. C. C. Davis, Mrs. Audie Carroll of Birmingham, spent the week end in Cullman with their mother, Mrs. W. F. Chance.

Miss Umbra Johnson is the attractive guest of her sister, Mrs. Charlie Martin and Dr. Martin at their home on 3rd St. East.

Mrs. E. H. Gunn of Decatur, and Mrs. W. A. Trimble will visit Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Hunter in Athens, during the week end.

Miss Doris Bland paid our office a visit this week and renewed her father’s subscription to the Tribune for another year.

The small son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Yeager is making a good recovery in a local hospital after an operation for appendicitis.

Herman Audferhaar came up from Birmingham last Sunday to spend the day with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. W. H. Audferhaar.

Mrs. Bert Speegle, son James, and daughter, Mrs. A. C. Edwards, spent Sunday in Birmingham with Mr. and Mrs. Elis Dodson.

Judge and Mrs. S. J. Griffin attended the graduation exercises of Judson college where his daughter, Doris, graduated this year.

Mrs. Charley Henderson was a charming hostess Wednesday afternoon to the members of her bridge club at her home on 6th Ave. East.

Jack Williamson left Tuesday for Colorado where he will play base ball with one of the leading Colorado big league teams this summer.

Miss Marie Abbott will leave soon to visit her brother in Ohio and accompany he and his family on a motor trip through the east and Canada.

Bill Allison attended the commencement exercises of the Alabama Military Institute in Anniston the past week accompanied by LeRoy Bledsoe.

Mr. and Mrs. T. D. McMinn attended the graduation exercises of Judson college at Marion where their daughter, Marguret, graduated this year.

Dr. and Mrs. Seigfred Bieker of St. Petersburg, Fla., will arrive about the middle of June for a visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bieker.

Emil Loegler spent a few days this week in Montgomery as a representative of the Cullman Council of Knights of Columbus in the state meeting.

Mrs. D. O. McKoy is attending the commencement exercises of Woman’s College in Montgomery, where her daughter, Helen, is graduating this year.

Mr. and Mrs. S. M. Lovelady, J. S. Gibson and Miss Louene Gibson attended the funeral of Joseph Hargrave in Hartselle Saturday afternoon.

Dr. and Mrs. C. E. Herrin, Dr. and Mrs. Alvie Culpepper and Dr. Phillip Hartung will leave Sunday for a week’s fishing trip to Orange Beach, Fla.

Miss Jean Kimball of Memphis, Tenn., a student of Judson is spending a few days as the house guest of Miss Mildred Smith on her way home from school.

Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Bland and daughters, Misses Iris and Doris, spent Sunday in Birmingham as the guests of their daughter, Mrs. J. C. Burnham and her family.

Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Schmitt are announcing the birth of a baby boy. The child being born on the 50th wedding anniversary of Mr. Schmitt’s parents.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Pylant and children of Ozark, spent last week in the city as the guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Pylant, returning home Saturday evening.

Mrs. H. E. Henning and baby of Bristol, Tenn. and her brother, Adam Dreher, Jr., of Birmingham, are spending a few days with relatives and friends in Cullman.

H. Clay Smith drove to Marion Monday and accompanied his daughter, Miss Mildred, who had been a student in Judson for the past scholastic year, home Monday afternoon.

Carl Rehling, who recently graduated from Auburn with highest honors, left Wednesday for Auburn where he has accepted a position with the state laboratory department.

Mrs. E. B. Youngk and daughter, Miss Amelia Youngk left for their home in San Diego, California, Monday night after a visit with Misses Louise and Gussie Eyer and other relatives.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Young and baby will leave next week for a motor trip to St. Petersburg, Fla., where they will be the guests of Dr. and Mrs. Seigford Bieker two or three weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. Del Kennemer and Misses Marie Abbott and Jeanette Greene attended the bankers convention in Montgomery last Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The following members of the Epworth League of the First Methodist church are attending the Epworth League assembly which meets Thursday and lasts for one week in Montevallo: Rosa Watson, Harry Sue McAdory, Helen Hawkins, Helen Kilpatrick, Myriam Sandlin, Arus McMinn, Harold Vandiver, Doris Grayott, Rev. and Mrs. Hawkins.

Cullman R. 3, May 28.—Farming is the order of the day at this place.

The commencement exercises at the auditorium Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights were attended by a large crowd each night. On Wednesday night Jr. I, II, III and Sr. I and II gave their play. On Thursday night the upper intermediates and the first grade gave their play and Friday night the lower intermediate and the primary department rendered their program. At the close of the program, certificates were awarded to the ones who were promoted. We are sorry to say that we are losing all of the faculty: Ethen Patrick, Spencer Walker, Jewell Miller, Opal Cooper and Nellie Livingston. We wish for them much success in the future field of work.

Calvin Patrick and Irene Britt attended the commencement exercises Friday night.

Elbert Talley, J. T. Allen and a friend of Cullman were out Thursday night.

The farewell party given by Mildred Glascock in honor of her teacher, Spencer Walker, was attended by a large crowd. Games and contests were carried out and prizes won by Pauline Moore and Ray Harris of Birmingham, second by Jewell Talley and Virgil Eidson. Those present were: Spencer Walker, Bryce Sticher, Guy and Ray Harris of Birmingham, J. D. Gorham, Raymond Jordan, Bill Smith, Grady Byrd, Raymond Burrow, Lonzo Norman, Lonnie and Virgil Eidson, Marvin Grizzard, Hobson Giles, Glen Hembree, Marvin Glascock, David Benefield, Anstin Payne, Hiram Parrish, Gladys Norman, Clarence and Marie Waddell, Irene and Verla Britt, Nellie Livingston, Minnie Entrekin of Georgia, Ima, Jewell, Clifton and Elbert Talley, Kermit and Lucy Harris, Pauline Moore and Francis Stewart of Birmingham, Mr. and Mrs. S. D. Henry and children, Dorothy and Frank and Edythe Glascock.

The singing at this place Sunday was a great success. Everybody reported a nice time.

Minnie Entrekin of Georgia, is visiting her sister, Mrs. Dell Sticher at this place.

Ethen and Ivan Patrick of Providence, were at the singing Sunday.

Dewitt Dye and Ima Talley were out riding Sunday.

Elbert Talley of Cullman, spent the week end with home folks, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Talley.

Mrs. Noah Aires, who underwent an operation a few days ago, is recovering nicely.

Mr. and Mrs. Asa Self and little daughters, Wilda Jean and Wilma Jane of Etha, were in Welti Sunday.

Bill Harris was the caller of Minnie Entrekin Sunday afternoon.

We are sorry to say the little son of Mr. and Mrs. Manuel Sticher is very sick.

Marie Waddell spent Saturday night with Mildred Glascock.

Army Allred and two brothers, Leonard and Ethridge and their mother of Birmingham, were at the singing Sunday.

Dorie Newman of Cullman, attended the singing Sunday.

Mrs. W. T. Giles and children of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., are visiting relatives and friends here.

Mrs. Kate Froust of Hartselle, is visiting her mother, Mrs. Gorham.

Mr. and Mrs. Brown Keller and children of Etha visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Talley, Sunday.

Roy Alldridge, Miss Bessie Yarbrough, Allton Alldridge, Miss Lete Stephens, Corbit Smith, Miss Esther Cobb and Henry Sims were the guests of Miss Kate and Clara Horton Sunday afternoon.

Ister Blackwood and Earl Caudle were the happy callers of Miss Brassie Ragland and Miss Margaret Johnson Sunday afternoon.

Allton Alldridge was the escort of Miss Effie Blackwood from preaching Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright of Oneonta, spent Sunday with her brother and family, J. W. Dismuke.

Mr. and Mrs. Beth Brock and little daughters of Birmingham, were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Dismuke Saturday night and Sunday.

Mrs. N. J. Crumbley and daughter, Mrs. Vener Laster, spent Friday night with Mrs. Onnie Dismuke.

Misses Lizzie and Onnie Laster were the happy callers on Mamie and Rebie Dismuke Wednesday.

Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Suttles and daughter, Elvin, attended the burial of Mrs. Carl Wheeler at Eddison Chapel Monday.

The wedding of D. C. Drake and Jewell Wade, daughter of Mrs. Mary Wade of near Brooklyn, came as a surprise to their friends. We wish them much happiness through life’s journey.

B. O. Suttles and family spent Monday evening with Mrs. Meade.

We are sorry Mrs. Suttles had the misfortune to fall and sprain her ankle very badly.

Milton House and wife and little daughter from San Antonio, Tex., are spending their vacation here with home folks. They will return by the way of Akron to visit his only brother, Roy House, also cousins, Mrs. Vella May Watts, Talmadge Whatley and wife and others there.

We are sorry to hear Mrs. Daisy Davenport is very sick. We hope she will regain her wonted health soon.

Our grammar and high schools closed with good results and all pleased for the first year of our high school. All are looking forward for a much better school the coming year, as they have all the buildings completed.
