David Ray Douglas, 63, peacefully passed away at Cullman Regional Medical Center on July 14, 2026, surrounded by the love of those who held him dear. David was born on August 17, 1962. He was a proud United States Marine who served his country with honor and carried the values of dedication, strength, and integrity throughout his life.

Following his military service, David built a career as an electrician, where his strong work ethic and skill earned the respect of those who knew and worked alongside him. He was a man who enjoyed life’s simple blessings, especially watching and photographing beautiful sunsets. He found peace in nature’s beauty and had a special gift for appreciating the quiet moments that many overlook.

More than anything, David cherished his family. His greatest joy came from spending time with his beloved grandsons, Walker, Weston, and Warner. Whether sharing laughter, making memories, or simply being together, they brought immeasurable happiness to his life. He always enjoyed attending awards ceremonies, archery tournaments, football games, or any other activities the boys were involved in.

David is survived by his loving partner of 18 years, Shelia, whose unwavering love and companionship meant the world to him. He also leaves behind family and friends who will forever treasure the memories they shared with him.

David will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet strength, unwavering devotion to those he loved, and the lasting impact he made on everyone fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, his love, his service, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.

Memorial service and visitation for David will be Tuesday, July 28th, 2026, from 5-7 p.m.at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel, Minister Steven Sutter officiating.
