2026 Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival Rescheduled

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — The 2026 Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival has been postponed due to weather, organizers announced Friday.

The festival was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 23, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. in downtown Hanceville.

The City of Hanceville had listed the event as a downtown community event on its 2026 calendar.

Festival organizers said a new date has not been set.

“This year’s festival will be rescheduled due to weather,” organizers posted on the Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival Facebook page. “Stay tuned for the date once the weather pattern stabilizes. As of now, next week looks like the same pattern, so it will likely be after that, maybe even later in June or early July. Thanks for everyone’s support, and sorry for the inconvenience.”

The decision comes as the National Weather Service in Huntsville placed Cullman County under a Flash Flood Watch through Saturday morning.

The watch cited multiple rounds of rain and thunderstorms, saturated soils and the potential for excessive runoff in low-lying and flood-prone areas.

The Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival has become one of the city’s signature downtown events, bringing food trucks, street vendors, live music, arts and crafts, children’s activities and grilled cheese cook-off competition to the heart of Hanceville.

Organizers said the new date will be announced once the weather pattern becomes more stable.

Updates are expected through the Hanceville Grilled Cheese Festival Facebook page.
