Obituary: Michael Lynn Stricklin

Michael Lynn Stricklin, age 76, of Cullman, passed away on May 7, 2026. A devoted husband, minister, veteran, and faithful servant of God, Michael dedicated his life to sharing the Gospel, serving others, and loving his family and community. 

Funeral service will be Tuesday, May 12th, 2026, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in New Prospect Cemetery, Bro. Tommy Graves and Bro. David Johns officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5:30 – 8 p.m. 

Born on June 9, 1949, to Leldon and Maye Stricklin, Michael was raised with strong values of faith, hard work, and compassion that guided him throughout his life. He graduated from Cold Springs High School in 1967 and continued his education at Wallace State Community College. 

Michael faithfully served his country after being drafted into the United States Army. Following his military service, he worked at Cullman Products for 40 years, where he was respected for his dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic. 

Above all else, Michael was a man of deep and unwavering faith. He answered the call to preach more than 50 years ago and spent decades ministering to congregations throughout Cullman County and surrounding communities. For 33 years, he faithfully shared the Word of God through radio ministry, touching countless lives with his messages of hope, salvation, and encouragement. He preached at numerous churches throughout the area and remained committed to serving the Lord throughout his life. 

Michael also loved volunteering and helping others whenever he could. Whether through church work, community service, or quiet acts of kindness, he never hesitated to lend a hand. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, studying Scripture, and encouraging others in their walk of faith. 

He was blessed to share 57 wonderful years of marriage with the love of his life, Hellen, building a legacy of faith, devotion, and family that will continue for generations. 

Michael will be remembered for his humble spirit, steadfast faith, servant’s heart, and the love he showed to everyone he met. His life was a testimony to God’s grace and faithfulness. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Gideons International in honor of Michael’s lifelong commitment to spreading the Gospel. 

He was preceded in death by his mother, Maye Stricklin; a brother, Greg Stricklin and his fur baby, Max. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his father, Leldon Stricklin; his wife, Hellen Stricklin; son, Jeff (Melissa) Stricklin; brothers, Billy (Phyllis) Stricklin, Donald (Rita) Stricklin; grandchildren, Jordan Stricklin, Paige (Wes) Clabo, Waid Harbison; family and friends.
