Funeral Service for Ellen Burks, age 81 of Vinemont, will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis Trimble officiating; burial at Ebenezer Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Burks passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at Woodland Village Healthcare.
Ellen was born August 30, 1944, in Kosciusko, Mississippi to William Young Sudduth and Mary “Velma” nee Mitchell Sudduth of McAdams, Mississippi. Ellen spent 30 years as the Pianist at Ebenezer Baptist Church and touched many lives through her music and her dedication to her church family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald Edward Burks, Sr. and granddaughter, Jade Burks.
Survivors include her sons, Eddie (Julie) Burks, and Phil (Wendy) Burks; grandchildren, Tabatha Burks, J P Burks, Patric (Courtney) Burks, Dakota (Leah) Burks; great granddaughters, Ivy Lee Burks, Finley Ellen Burks; bonus great grandchildren, Vincent Yates, Callaway Beck and Rowen Beck.
