BREMEN, Ala. – The 2026 Cullman County outdoor track championship was held at Cold Springs high school on Wednesday.
In the boys competitions, West Point ran away with a 170 point victory to repeat as county champions. Senior Asa Sutter earned three gold medals in the triple jump, 110mH and 300mH. In the 300 meter hurdle, Sutter broke his coach’s (Hunter Appling) county record with a 41.19 second mark. Another Warrior, sophomore Rush Lamar, finished with a gold medal in the 200m run and silver medals in the 100m and 400m runs.
The boys MVP award went to Fairview’s Nic Fallin, who finished with gold medals in the pole vault and long jump (set new personal records in both), and silver medals in the 110mH and high jump.
Magnificent as always was Holly Pond’s Daniel Figueroa, who took gold in the 100m para, 200m para, discus throw para and javelin throw para.

The girls saw a repeat champion as well, as Cold Springs girls put on a dominant 218-point performance. The Eagles were led by the girls MVP, eighth grader Reese Swidecki, who recorded four gold medals and 40 points of her own on the day. Senior Ella Dickerson had a day as well, earning a gold in the triple jump, silvers in the 100mH and high jump and a bronze in the 300mH, good for 32 individual points.
In second place, Good Hope saw standout performances from senior Cadence Watson and junior Sammie Johns. Watson finished with a gold in the 300mH and two bronze medals in the 100mH and pole vault. Johns earned a silver in the 100m run and was part of the silver medal 4×100 relay team.
