Funeral service for Max Elwin Heatherly, age 83 of Joppa, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Justen Staton officiating; Visitation will be from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mr. Heatherly passed away on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Woodland Village Health Care. He was born, July 12, 1942, to Limas Edward Heatherly and Nettie Kilgo Heatherly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Fred Heatherly and Larry Heatherly.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Sue Heatherly; sons, Wade Heatherly and Warren (Shonna) Heatherly; grandchildren, Zach (Kelci), Dylan (Clarissa), Ramsey (Christina); great grandchildren, Reese, Josie, Clover and Remington; sisters, Kathy (John) Johnson, Jan (Roger) Larson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
