CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism has announced a slate of upcoming community events ranging from youth recreation and theater to one of the area’s most popular annual pageants.
The schedule includes a youth Nerf battle fundraiser in February, registration for the Miss Strawberry Festival Pageant and Cullman Community Theatre’s spring production of “Matilda the Musical.”
Kids vs. Cops Nerf battle set for Feb. 7
The OmniPlex will host Nerf: Kids vs. Cops on Saturday, Feb. 7, from 9 a.m.-noon.
The event pits children aged 4 to 12 against members the Cullman Police Department in a friendly Nerf battle designed to combine fun with community engagement. The event also serves as a fundraiser benefiting the CPD’s Shop with a Cop program.
Participants are asked to bring their own Nerf gun. The cost is $20 per child, and space is limited.

Miss Strawberry Festival Pageant registration opens Feb. 16
Registration for the 2026 Miss Alabama Strawberry Festival Pageant will open Feb. 16.
The pageant, scheduled for April 11, welcomes contestants ranging from infant through high school age and is a longstanding tradition tied to the annual Alabama Strawberry Festival. The event emphasizes confidence, community involvement and festival spirit.

Cullman Community Theatre presents “Matilda the Musical” March 5–7
Cullman Community Theatre will present “Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical” Friday-Sunday, March 5-7, in the Cullman High School auditorium.
Performances are scheduled for 7 p.m. each night, with a Sunday matinee on March 7 at 2 p.m. The production features local performers bringing the popular musical to the stage.
