Funeral Service for Hollis Henry Jones, age 60 of Arab, will be at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Ryan Baptist Church with Michael King and Terry Hudson officiating; burial at Ryan Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Ryan Baptist Church.

Mr. Jones passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at his residence. He was born, June 29, 1966, to Henry Wesley Jones and Ovallion Jones.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Survivors include his mother, Ovallion Jones-Gilley; sister, Wren (Mike) Yeager; daughter, Sydney (Patrick) Johnson; grandson, Hunter Paul Johnson; nieces, Amber (Larry) Thompson and Brittan (Jeremy) George; great niece, Finley George; great nephew, Truett George and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family & friends.
Hollis Henry Jones was a one-of-a-kind man. As a young boy, he discovered a deep love and interest for training and showing racking horses. For years he worked closely with the Latham family of Latham Stables.
He was quite the thrill seeker as he enjoyed scuba diving, bungee jumping, riding his motorcycles, even engineering his own motorized bicycle before that was a thing.
Hollis, much like his father, loved to pull a prank. Between this and his many thrill seeking adventures, left for many amazing stories.
If he liked you, you would be given a nickname and it would stick.
Hollis had a continuous desire to learn and create. If you needed something repaired, he was your man. He was an excellent welder and established this reputation at a young age when he began his own successful business, Hulaco Welding.
He was a giver. Hollis would give you his last dime and not bat an eye. He had a huge heart for the elderly and those in need.
While all of these qualities alone made up for an amazing person, what mattered the most was his heart. When Hollis was 8 years old, he prayed and asked Jesus to be his savior and to forgive him of his sins. He soon was baptized in believers baptism. For this, we have hope. For this we only weep for his earthly absence because we know that if we too have asked Jesus to be the Lord of our lives, we will be reunited with Hollis in Heaven one day.
He will be forever loved and forever missed by his family and friends.
