CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man was killed in a two-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. Friday, Dec.12. Alabama State Troopers identified the victim as Gregory B. Booker, 33.
Troopers said Booker was fatally injured when the 2005 Infiniti G35 he was a passenger in was struck by a 2006 Toyota Tundra driven by Richard L. Hand, 65, of Gardendale.
According to Troopers, Booker was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Hand was injured and transported to Cullman Regional for treatment.
Two juveniles, 17 and 15, both of Kimberly, who were passengers in the Toyota, were injured and transported to local hospitals for treatment.
The driver of the Infiniti, Connor D. Eaton, 24, and a passenger, Matthew Z. Ponder, 26, both of Cullman, were also injured and airlifted to UAB Hospital for treatment. Neither Eaton nor Ponder were using their seat belts at the time of crash, Troopers said.
The crash occurred on Interstate 65 near County Road 222, approximately 1 mile north of Good Hope, in Cullman County.
Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
