“District Trumbauer was a huge success!

“Cullman Theatre brought home Best in Show and Best Costume Design, and we’re thrilled to be heading to State in December!

“A special congratulations to Cadan Fales, winner of Best Actor, and Noah Casey, winner of Best Supporting Actor in the one-act play. Our All-Star Cast members — Isaac Heinze, Lily Abbott, and Mary Atchison — also shined on stage!

“We’re proud to share that many of our Individual Events earned Superior ratings and advanced to State as well.

“It was an incredible day for Cullman Theatre, and we’re so grateful for everyone’s support.

“Go Bearcats!”

Director Wayne Cook said there were 36 individual superior awards and many more.

“Our students work hard and are very talented,” Cook said. “We have won awards on a District and State level for numerous years. Our students have grown to expect to be in contention every year. It means a great deal to be acknowledged by your peers who know theater.”

CHS Theatre is also led by Choral Director Sarah Jane Skinner.

The group will now have the opportunity to perform the same show at the State Trumbauer Festival held this year at UAB Dec. 5-6.

Cook said Trumbauer is the high school division festival held by the Alabama Conference of Theatre every year. It is the largest high school theater event held in Alabama.

“The cast also won an award for Best Costumes,” Cook said. “Cullman Theatre has won Best In Show at District for nine of the last 11 years. ‘Suite Surrender’ will be one of 14 shows competing from all over the state at the State Trumbauer Festival in December. It is a great honor just to be in the top 14 programs.”
