In Loving Memory of Walter “Buzz” Emerson Busby
May 4, 1953 – August 4, 2025

Walter Emerson Busby, lovingly known as “Buzz,” passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 4, 1953, in Hamilton, Ohio to Lillian and J.M. Busby, Buzz lived a vibrant, full life marked by creativity, kindness, and an unwavering dedication to those he loved.

Buzz was a man of many talents. A gifted mechanic and car restoration expert by trade, he poured his heart into every engine he fixed and every classic car he brought back to life. His pride and joy, a beautifully restored ’66 Mustang, was a showstopper at car shows, earning numerous awards and turning heads wherever it went. His passion for automobiles wasn’t just about the cars—it was about craftsmanship, history, and sharing that love with others.

Long before his time under the hood, Buzz expressed himself through art. As a young man, his sculptures were showcased in the prestigious Art Institute of Chicago—a testament to his innate creativity and vision. That same spark of expression carried into later years when he took the stage as an ETA (Elvis Tribute Artist). Performing brought him immense joy, and it showed in every smile he inspired and every crowd he entertained. He cherished the stage, the music, and most of all, the people whose lives he touched with his talent and heart.

But beyond all of his passions and achievements, Buzz’s greatest pride was his family. He was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather who believed in hard work, laughter, and making every moment count. He had the rare gift of making everyone feel like family—he truly never met a stranger. Whether through a warm smile, a helping hand, or a shared story, Buzz left a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, Lillian and J.M., and his brother Jimmy Busby.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife Suzie Busby; his children: Jason (Leigh Ann) Busby, Crystal (Kavin) Gibson, and Brittney (Johnny) Beckmann; and his cherished grandchildren: Brody Gibson, Jase Busby, Ashton Gibson, Jaleigh Busby, Banks Busby, Mason Beckmann, Hunter Beckmann, and Rowan Beckmann.

Buzz lived by the motto “TCB”—Taking Care of Business—which he did every day of his life. And to his grandchildren, he often said what they will always hold close to their hearts: “I love you to infinity and beyond.”

A private “Celebration of Life” will be held at a later date, where loved ones will gather to remember the man who gave so much and asked for so little. His memory will live on through every car show, every song, every laugh, and every story shared around the table.

We will miss him dearly, love him always, and carry his legacy forever in our hearts.

Walter E has left the building. Peace…Out.
