Mrs. Suggs passed away on Thursday, October 1, 2026 at the University Of Alabama Hospital. She was born, January 15, 1935 to Dewey Stringer and Earsel Stringer.
Jane was the matriarch of the family—the heart of it all. She was the one who took care of everyone, loved everyone, and always made sure her family was okay. Her love was felt in so many ways, through her kindness, her strength, her sacrifices, and the countless things she did for the people she loved.
She was a constant source of comfort and a place where family could always turn. Her presence brought everyone together, and her love helped make the family what it is today.
Her absence will be deeply felt, and there will be an emptiness that can never truly be filled. But the love she gave, the memories she created, and the family she cared for so deeply will carry her legacy forward.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Harold and William Aubrey Stringer; sisters, Maurice Bailey, Reba Teague, baby Inez Stringer; and son-in-law, Greg Mize.
Survivors include her husband, Charles “Buddy” Suggs; daughters, Leshia (Curtis) Armstrong, Melissa Mize, and Dana (Richard) Walker; grandchildren, Stacia (John) Henderson, Benjamin (Sarah) Nobrega, Megan (Landon) Mathis, Kimalea (Aaron) Avery, Wesley (Grace) Walker, Kile Weaver, Will (Rachel) Barnett, and Jamie Cofer (JC) Raynor; great grandchildren, Anna-Catherine and Trent Henderson, Maelee-Jane and Mason Mathis, Charlie, Avery, Ryan and Madi Nobrega, Riley Avery, Kaitlyn Barnett, Kalissa and Corbin Thompson, Jaylee Borseth; sister, Gail Martin; sister-in-law, Dean Stringer; brother-in-law, Bobby Teague; and a host of other family and friends.
