Mr. Couch was born June 3, 1967, in Fostoria, Ohio to the late George & Josephine Couch. He passed away August 12, 2026, in Hanceville, Alabama.
Jody Couch was a one-of-a-kind man whose heart was as big as his personality. He was a selfless, giving soul who would help anyone in need. Jody would have given his last dollar or the shirt off his back to someone who needed it. He never hesitated to stand up for others and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Though he could be big and bad when he needed to be, Jody also had a tender and sensitive heart that made him deeply caring toward the people and animals he loved.
Jody was a die-hard Redskins fan and loved classic rock. He enjoyed working out, collecting unique treasures, quarters, and spending time around animals. He took pride in looking good and smelling good, and gold jewelry was one of his favorite things. He loved to joke and cut up with anyone, and his unique laugh and unmistakable giggle could brighten any room.
Jody was also a hard-working man who spent many years as a truck driver. When he wasn’t working, he loved cooking on the grill, especially having a good Sunday barbecue. Those who knew him will remember the joy he found in feeding the people he loved and bringing everyone together around good food and good conversation.
Above all, Jody loved God and his family. He was a God-fearing man who cherished the people closest to him. His love story with Cheryl began when she was just 14 years old in 1986. They grew up together, shared a lifetime of memories, and continued walking through life side by side. After nearly three decades together, Jody and Cheryl were married in 2015, making their lifelong love official.
Jody loved deeply, gave freely, and never met a stranger. He could make you laugh, make you feel protected, and make you feel like you mattered. He was the kind of man who would stand up for anyone, give whatever he had, and love his family with everything in him.
Jody leaves behind a legacy of generosity, loyalty, laughter, faith, and unconditional love. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories of his laughter, his big heart, his Sunday barbecues, his jokes, and the countless ways he helped others will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Jody was truly one of a kind—and there will never be another quite like him.
