CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman man and his handmade jewelry company recently finished 12th in The People’s Artist, an online nationwide competition presented by actor and artist Johnny Depp.
Brian Greer, owner of The Fun Company, is a jewelry artist and has been crafting unique jewelry for 40 years.
“We had a contract with the Friends of the NRA for 1,140 pairs of Freedom Flyer earrings that put eyes on the company,” his wife Paige Greer said. “I saw the contest on Facebook and entered him into it late one night. He had no idea. He was then selected. Brian has said the whole time he didn’t expect to win, he was excited to be chosen and get recognized.”
Paige Greer said her husband finished 12th in his group of 70.
“The contest lasts for 90 days for promotion and fundraising and there are 10 rounds,” she said. “It is presented by Johnny Depp and is administered by Colossal Management, a for-profit commercial fundraiser for the charity The Art of Elysium. The winner receives $25,000, appears in Artforum Magazine and exhibits their work at The Art of Elysium Salon in Los Angeles, California.”
“What a ride and honor to have been chosen to participate in The People’s (sic) Artist 2026,” Brian Greer said. “I was blessed to have been able to make it to the second round and placed 12th in his group. Thanks to all who supported and voted for me. Who knows who saw my work and where this could lead to? May love, laughter and happiness be your constant companion in life. Fun Company on.”
