Darrel “Bruce” Runge was called to heaven the morning of Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. He was born on February 4th, 1960, to Odis and Eura Mae Runge.

Bruce was a devoted and loving husband as well as a protective and caring father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Nothing made him more proud than the moments he spent as daddy to his two children and as PawPaw to his seven grandchildren. He provided a lifetime of memories to those around him thanks to his big personality, charismatic storytelling, and quick-witted sense of humor. He was truly full of life and could always be counted on to drop a clever joke at a moment’s notice.

A few of his passions and hobbies included a love for Alabama Football – which he closely shared with his wife, son and daughter, working on the farm and piddling with his equipment, starting new projects or building things for others, and visiting with his family and friends. He was the epitome of a “master of all trades” as there was nothing he couldn’t build or fix no matter the tool or the challenge in front of him. He exemplified the strong work ethic, good character, determination, and respect that he taught his children. Bruce was a one-of-a-kind and will be so very missed by his loved ones.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Teresa, of forty-one year; son, David (Megan) Runge, daughter, Leah (Kyle) Waldrop; grandchildren, Archer, Isaac, Jonah, Nolan, Abel, Abigail and Elijah; brothers, Bobby (Brenda) Runge, Ferrell (Shelia) Runge, James Runge, and David (Mindy) Runge; sisters, Deborah (Dan) Hix and Tammy (Steve) Corley; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Odis and Eura Mae Runge.

Family and friends are welcome to attend Bruce’s Celebration of Life Service being held at the Vinemont Scout House on Saturday, August 16th starting at 2 p.m.
