HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Hanceville Fire & Rescue gave tips on fire safety and showered kids with water from the fire engine at the Shirley Burden Public Library on Wednesday, June 25.

Firefighters educated children and parents on smoke alarms and practicing fire escape drills at home. They also discussed “getting out and staying out” and explained which places in the yard were safe to stay in after escaping. Children were given hats and coloring books.

After their lesson, the children went outside and were cooled off by a shower of water from the department’s fire engine. They were also given lunch.

Hanceville Fire & Rescue Station 1 is located at 119 Collins Ave. in Hanceville. Find the department on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HancevilleFireRescue.
