CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Wednesday, June 25, in the area of mile marker 296 on Interstate 65 when the vehicle fled.
Sheriff Matt Gentry said the vehicle in question fled at a high rate of speed and other agencies joined in the pursuit as the vehicle continued to flee out of Cullman County.
“Priceville PD was able to stop the vehicle around the 329 mile marker,” Gentry said. “The driver of the suspected vehicle fled from his vehicle and entered the vehicle of an associate, continuing to flee from law enforcement. That vehicle was ultimately stopped around mile marker 345.”
Terrance Devon Darnell Mitchell, 18, of Antioch, Tennessee, was identified as the driver of the first vehicle.
He was arrested by the CCSO and charged with felony attempting to elude and reckless driving.
The other suspects involved were charged by other agencies.
