Jerry “Beaver” Mathis, age 66, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.
Beaver was a loving husband, daddy, father-in-law, and grandpa. Beaver dedicated his life to his family, his work on earth, and loving others. Beaver and Angie had a special everlasting love that was undeniable and could easily be envious of. According to Beaver, he married his ‘high school sweetheart’. Beaver and Angie built a beautiful life together raising their three daughters. He so proudly supported his girls in everything they did. He loved them with all his heart and was always the best girl dad. He was blessed with the men that married his girls and became his sons. His grandkids were his pride and joy. He loved them with his whole heart and was always ready to tell you all about them. Beaver loved to work and took pride in every aspect of it. He attended an apprenticeship school to become a Journeyman Ironworker. He was a skilled welder, iron worker, carpenter, poultry farmer, and ultimate jack of all trades. He loved and left a lasting impression on everyone he met. To know him was to love him.
In 1996, Beaver was saved and baptized after accepting Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Through all the obstacles he faced, he never lost sight of God’s grace.
