BAILEYTON, Ala. – Mayor Windell Calloway called the Baileyton Town Council meeting to order on Monday, Oct. 7, at which time the council commenced a busy night discussing a host of upcoming events.

After the well-attended Baileyton Family Fun Day in the Park in September, the council scheduled next year’s event for Sept. 20, 2025.

The Halloween Drive-Thru sponsored by the Town of Baileyton and the Baileyton Volunteer Fire Department will be held Oct. 26, from 5-8 p.m. at 165 Fire Station Road. Guests are encouraged to wear their best costumes, and are assured a sweet treat – no trick about this!

The Town’s Christmas event is scheduled for Dec. 14. Mayor Calloway said, “Christmas is a little different. We collect toys for the kids all year long. We have hotdogs, hamburgers and cokes for both kids and adults to enjoy.” More details about that event will be shared as the season approaches.

In other news, Town Clerk Dianne Harper offered her letter of resignation, and the council approved the motion to accept it at the October meeting. The council is now seeking a new party to fill the vacancy. Those interested in submitting their resumes or learning more about the position can contact Mayor Calloway at windellcall@gmail.com or 256-385-1422.

The next town council meeting will be Monday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at Baileyton Town Hall, located at 95 Fire Station Road.
