WATERLOO, Ala. – After handling Phillips Bear Creek a week ago, the Tigers of Meek were back on the road Friday night for another region game against Waterloo. The Tigers built up a 31-0 lead over the Cougars in the first half and cruised in the second half on their way to a 31-16 win.

A pair of rushing touchdowns from Hunter Wyatt put Meek in front 16-0 going into the second quarter. Wyatt’s third touchdown of the night, this one from 12 yards out, made it a 24-0 game with eight minutes remaining in the first half. Jordan Phillips responded with a 12-yard touchdown of his own later in the period to put the Tigers on top 31-0 going into the locker room at halftime.

Waterloo was able to find the end zone a couple times in the second half but with the clock running, it was too little, too late for the Cougars and Meek returned home with a 31-16 win.

The Tigers improve to 2-3 with the win and they’ll be off next week before hosting Shoals Christian on Oct. 4.
