It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Charles Neil Glasscock, who left us on the 16th of September, 2024, at the venerable age of 91. Neil drew his first breath on June 3, 1933, in Cullman, Alabama, and lived a life characterized by unwavering integrity, devotion, and duty to service.

Neil was a product of East Elementary and Cullman High School, and his thirst for knowledge led him to further his education at the University of North Alabama and the University of Alabama. He ultimately received his Juris Doctor from Atlanta Law School. This educational journey laid the groundwork for a notable career in federal law enforcement.

A proud veteran of the Korean War and a Lt. Colonel in the Army Reserve, Neil’s patriotism and valor were integral to his identity. His commitment to his country was both admirable and inspiring.

Professionally, Neil was esteemed for his role as a federal agent in the Treasury Department and later as a Deputy Director at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco Ga. His unwavering commitment to upholding justice and his leadership in the development of law enforcement officers stood as a testament to his professional excellence.

Neil’s passion for photography earned him accolades as an award-winning photographer. His ability to capture the beauty of the natural world and the essence of life was not only a source of personal fulfillment but also brought wonder and delight to those who witnessed his craft.

Neil’s existence was a living embodiment of his core principles: fidelity, service, and distinction. His memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have known him. His service to his nation and his community leaves an indelible mark that will be remembered with reverence and affection. A memorial will be held in Cullman at a later date.
