HANCEVILLE, Ala. – After cutting down the nets in Tom Drake Coliseum Saturday night, Good Hope was back at Wallace State Wednesday night for its final regular season matchup of the season against the Bulldogs of Addison. The Raiders put together another impressive night on the offensive end of the floor, knocking down 19 three-pointers in an 88-65 win over Addison.

Baskets by Kaden Dyson and Jacob McLamb gave the Bulldogs a 4-0 start in the first quarter but scores by Tyler Cone and Jacob Haynes on the other end tied the game at 4. K’mal Bell drilled a three to give the Raider a 9-6 lead midway through the opening period and two more buckets from Cone stretched the lead to 13-6. However, an 8-0 run by Addison, started by a pair of Kiah Lake baskets, put the Bulldogs in front 14-13 at the end of the first quarter.

Three-pointers by Dakota Overton and Weston Hancock put Good Hope back in front 19-17 early in the second quarter. Baskets from Eli Roberts and Bradley Willette cut the lead down to one later in the period but an 8-0 run from the Raiders helped make it a 31-23 game with three minutes remaining in the first half. That’s when Bell caught fire, knocking down three straight jumpers from three-point range to help build a 42-27 lead for Good Hope at the halftime break.

Haynes drilled a pair of three-pointers early in the third to keep the Raiders in front 48-35 and a pair of Cone baskets made it a 52-37 game midway through the quarter. Two more buckets by Willette held the lead to 54-41 later in the period and Lake laid one in to make it an 11-point game but five more points from Hancock in the final minute of the third quarter gave Good Hope a 60-47 lead going into the fourth.

Shots continued to fall for the Raiders in the final frame. Cone and Bell each drained three-pointers to put Good Hope ahead 75-52 and after Tucker Malin laid one in, Hancock’s third three-pointer of the night gave the Raiders a commanding, 80-53 lead with just over three minutes to play. The Bulldogs continued to battle on the other end but could not overcome the lead and Good Hope capped its regular season with an 88-65 win over Addison.

Five players scored in double figures for the Raiders, led by Bell and Hancock with 20. Willette led the way for Addison with 14 points in the loss. Good Hope will return home Saturday to tip off this year’s 4A, Area 13 Tournament.
