VINEMONT, Ala. – Vinemont hosted the Tigers of J.B. Pennington Tigers on a foggy night for football and unfortunately for the home crowd, the Tigers came away victorious 44-6.

Vinemont was forced to punt on its first possession. Pennington drove down the field but once the Tigers got in the redzone, the Eagles defense stiffened to force a fourth and goal situation and Vinemont got the stop when Xavier Sellers intercepted the ball in the endzone. It wasn’t until early in the second quarter that either team found the endzone when Pennington took a 7-0 lead.

After Vinemont failed to convert on fourth down the Tigers got the ball back and took a 15-0 lead with just under five minutes remaining until halftime. Pennington managed to score again before halftime on a touchdown pass as time expired. Pennington added 3 more touchdowns till early in the fourth quarter.

Vinemont got the ball with nine minutes remaining in the game and managed to find the endzone on a 1-yard touchdown run by Rush Sandlin, but the two-point conversion attempt was unsuccessful, bringing the final score to 44-6 in favor of the Tigers.

Vinemont falls to 1-5 with the loss and the Eagles will be back on the road next week to take on Madison Academy.
