CULLMAN, Ala. – Rock n Roll Sushi in Cullman changed ownership in April, and the restaurant celebrated with a grand opening on Wednesday, July 26.

New owners Chuck and Stephanie Perkins, along with family members and Mobile natives, Russell and Tiffany Perkins, have been rebranding the space over the last three months, but never closed the doors to the public during the process.

Now, Stephanie Perkins said, they are excited to share what they have been working on and building.

“Everyone has been adapting to our changes and bought into our culture that we are trying to create here and we love it,” Perkins said. “Most of the previous staff is still here and we have also added new staff members. We all work well collectively and it’s exciting to see everything come together as it has.”

The restaurant is owned by a pair of brothers and their wives who have all had a vision to bring a light into the city of Cullman.

“We have wanted to own a restaurant for a long time and we are thrilled to see the result of the work that has been put in,” Perkins said. “We will still have all the same menu items as before but will be adding some things like the poke bowl and looking for some other options in the fall.”

Perkins said Axil is back as sushi chef, and they will also be sharing many fun specials on their social media accounts as they become available.

“We are a less intimidating version of sushi – I call it sushi for beginners – and of course we have favorites like hibachi, all the appetizers, rocktails and things we are known for,” she shared.

Tiffany Perkins, Stephanie Perkins’ sister-in-law, shared that her favorite menu items are the Velcro Pygmies Roll and the Groupie Roll. Tiffany Perkins and her husband Russell Perkins also own a Rock n Roll Sushi location in Foley, Alabama. Stephanie Perkins said her favorite is the Punk Rock Roll.

“We are veteran owned; my husband, Chuck, is on active duty,” Stephanie Perkins said. “He works in the medical detachment in Birmingham. We just love this community and want to provide a great local eatery with top-notch service.”

Rock n Roll Sushi is open Sunday-Thursday from 11 a.m.- 9 p.m., and Friday-Saturday from 11 a.m.- 10 p.m. It is located at 1900 Market Platz Center SW in Cullman near TJ Maxx.

It will be hosting an event with Paws Up Rescue on Saturday, July 29. Check the restaurant’s Facebook/ Instagram pages for more information.
