County commission declares National Library Week, Small Business Week

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Commission on Tuesday declared April 23-29, 2023, National Library Week in the county.

Chairman Jeff Clemons nominated Tanya Allcorn to the Cullman County Library Board of Trustees.  The nomination was approved.

“I’ve never worked with anyone that’s got the heart for the library like you do,” Clemons told Allcorn.

The commission also declared April 30-May 6, 2023, Small Business Week in Cullman County.

The following items were approved:

  • Resolution 2023-23: Change speed limit to 20 mph on County Road 459
  • Public Hearing: CARTS Operations for FY 2024
  • Resolution 2023-24: Authorize local matching funds for CARTS FY 2024 and authorize Chairman to sign all related paperwork
  • Resolution 2023-25: Authorize the filing of 5311 Grant application for CARTS and authorize Chairman to sign all related paperwork
  • Amend Item J from the Jan. 10, 2023, commission meeting to reflect the purchase of six (6) Logan LE Dump beds from the ACCA Joint Bid in the amount of $41,110 each
  • Consider Chairman Clemons’ nominee, Tanya Allcorn, to the Library Board of Trustees for the remainder of Ron Hague’s term set to expire Sept. 30, 2026
  • Consider approval of contract between the Cullman County Commission and Post Panda and authorize Chairman to sign all related paperwork
  • Amend Item W from the Feb. 23, 2023, meeting to reflect the surplus of Etnyre Asphalt Distributor (serial no. S2330) and Etnyre Asphalt Distributor (serial no. S3421) to scrap
  • Proposed preliminary plat The Springs. A minor subdivision containing 8 Lots located off County Road 54
  • Proposed preliminary plat The Reserve at Stonebridge Farms. A major subdivision containing 10 Lots located at 1360 County Road 706
  • Extend Bid no.1390: Hauling to Carcel & G for one year
  • Reject and Rebid Bid no. 1435: Full-Depth Reclamation

The next commission work session will be Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at 4 p.m. in the commission meeting room. The meeting follow at 6.
