CULLMAN, Ala. – Flourish of Cullman is hosting its first nearly sold-out Spring Fling Fundraiser on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at the Traditions Bank Building from 6-10 p.m.
Prizes to be won from the five rounds of bingo and silent auction include Rock the South tickets, luxury vacations, massages, self-care items and more. Founder and Executive Director Melissa Dew made sure to note that the event is two-fold; the primary goal is to raise funds for its Robert Squire Independent Living Skills Apartment, and the secondary function is to recognize some of its highest achieving and improving clients.
Flourish of Cullman’s mission is to assist individuals with differing abilities to learn practical life and job skills. A broader goal is also to promote and change the way the clients it serves are viewed.
Per Dew, “Everybody has value. Sometimes we don’t see it because we’re so focused on ourselves. But we all had someone to believe in us, and we don’t realize the difference it makes to have someone believe they can.”
Flourish serves clients with different abilities by offering a holistic approach to life improvement which includes life coaching, mentorship, teaching job skills and socialization opportunities.
